Shalom yeladim. This week we are reading Parasha Emor, which sounds like the name of our Pelican, Amar in this years Vacation Torah School! Both the VTS and this parasha speak about true love. Have you ever received a gift that had to be put together? You probably opened the box and found all of the pieces, but also in the box you found the directions for assembly. The reason the directions were put in the box was so that you would know the right order to put your gift together. In other words the directions made it possible for you to enjoy your gift. In this week’s Parsha we find out more about Ad-nai’s true love for Israel. As we read the four chapters within this week’s Parsha we see that Ad-nai provided the Mitzvot in an order which made it easier and more possible for the Children of Israel to keep His commandments. First Ad-nai gave instructions for the priests, then the offerings and then, when to make the offerings. The law and the directions for keeping the law keep us healthy, strong, safe, allow us to more fully to enjoy the gift of life, and draw us closer to G-D! It is HIS true LOVE for us that gives us Torah! What is true love? Find out this Summer at VTS! Ask your parents to sign you up today.
